A highly collectable and rare 1949 Rolex Ovettone 5030 18K Yellow Gold Oyster Perpetual Big Bubbleback Roulette Wristwatch. One of the rarest "Big Bubbleback" references that represents a forward swing in Rolex's history. The timepiece is in overall excellent condition. 18K Yellow gold Ovettone case has remained thick and full bodied. The gold smooth bezel is very prominent. Original Oyster crown is present. Gold hallmarks on case and caseback are prominent and fully intact. Some expected light wear in keeping with age and usage. The all original white dial has developed a beautiful and light patina with gorgeous colored lume plots, reacts to UV, fade rapidly. Gold sword hands react to UV, fade at a slower rapid pace. The chronometer rated Oyster Perpetual automatic movement is running and winds smoothly.
